Two-thirds of survey respondents indicated that their programs have existed for at least 10 years, and almost half have been around for more than 16 years.
Due to awkward wording of this survey question, there may have been some confusion among the survey participants about whether they were asked to provide the age of their organization or the age of the specific program they manage. A future survey would sharpen this question to assure the responses are comparable.
Sharpening the question would also help reveal any correlation between the tenure of each program and the nature of the services it provides, or the functional areas it covers.
Finally, a future survey might explore more fully what changes have occurred or lessons have been learned in the longer-term programs.
